Eplus3D and Scheftner to Advance Metal 3D Printing in Dentistry

Share post:

Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Eplus3D has joined forces with Scheftner GmbH to bring about a transformation in the dental and metal additive manufacturing sectors.

Scheftner, renowned for its expertise in producing medical-grade metal powders utilized in laser powder bed fusion and selective laser melting technologies, envisions an enhanced service for the dental industry through collaboration with Eplus3D. The partnership seeks to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions by leveraging Scheftner’s material proficiency and Eplus3D’s hardware portfolio.

With a focus on compliance with the Medical Device Regulation, the companies aim to ensure patient and user safety. Scheftner emphasizes adherence to the mechanical property requirements outlined in DIN EN ISO 22674, achieved through customized settings for Scheftner products.

Scheftner’s product offerings span non-precious metals, including powders, metal alloys, and metal milling discs across three different ranges. Notably, the company provides cobalt chrome and titanium powders designed for the additive manufacturing of denture products. Eplus3D complements this with an array of SLM 3D printers, including the EP-M150 tailored for dental users. The EP-M150 boasts a build volume of 150 x 100 mm, capable of printing approximately 220 crowns in 5.5 hours or a full plate of partials in 8 hours.

The collaborative effort between Eplus3D and Scheftner is anticipated to enhance product quality and productivity, ushering in new benchmarks for quality and safety. The partnership aims to set industry standards while inviting interested parties to explore the expanded range of solutions resulting from this strategic collaboration.

In a joint press release, Eplus3D and Scheftner GmbH declare their commitment to leading the way in these industries through forward-thinking collaboration. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to the companies for detailed information on the available products and services. Plans are already in motion to extend the stringent validation process to additional products, broadening the scope of solutions offered.
